If you plan to overclock I believe the higher FSB is better.

If I already have a decent monitor and a case that can handle alot of stuff... you all think I can build a decent gaming/media PC for $600?

It's a bit against the grain of most people. But if you go with an AMD 690G chipset on the mobo with an AMD Phenom, toss in at least a Nvidia 9600GT card and 4gb ram. You are set. That should come in well under $600.

Labarinth and I shopped for a NICE desktop setup minus the monitor and case maybe 9 - 12 months ago and we built a nice setup for $600 and a VERY NICE one for $800.

Within the next month or so I will be piecing together a new system.

The way I always understood it, if you plan to OC *at all* the higher FSB is a lot better. Though that could very well apply to just regular un-OC speeds too.
