Question. I want that app that lets you shake the phone and it displays locations to eat and all that stuff (the one from the commercial). Is there anyway to find out if that's available for the touch.

I've been out of the iPhone loop for a while.

Someone throw me a bone on this one.

A guy I knew unlocked the first gen iPhone for me, gave it to my gf to use on TMO. With all these updates now, can I update and Jailbreak it?

 

yup easy as pie. upgrade to 2.2 then get quickpwn and follow the instructions...took me about 15 minutes. install cydia..don't bother with installer as it is meh. Cydia will get you started. Then if you wanna get more advanced you can start playing with OpenSSH which gives access to the root on the iphone for all kinds of fun.
