your friend is getting married, not you. 2000+ is unreasonable. tell him you'll celebrate when they get back

:werd: I'd bow out too and tell them the wedding is too rich for their blood.

if they want to be so cheap they should just go by themselves and throw a party when they get back, that would make more sense. No way in hell I'd ever spend that much on a friend's wedding.

update:

ok a big update on this situation... she changed the resort to the rio paradise in the bahamas for about 1600~... and she said she has paid the deposit on it $200...

now she says... she wants us to pay the deposits... and apparently that was the plan all along .. she would get her $200 back once we paid our FULL TRIP PRICE....

to add insult to injury.. she is making my girlfriend BUY her bridesmaid dress... we are both very upset to say the least.. (now the trip is back up to $2000 EACH)

anyway.. do you guys think it is fair that i call her out on it, and be like, if you dont start giving us some incentive to go, then we'll just see you when you get back?

Tell her it's too rich for your blood and you're sorry you can't afford to attend. :hs: I'm assuming other guests are having the same problem as you.

My gf's friends wedding was in Hawaii, so only like 12 people were there.
