Check the window sticker. Should be the standard one and the dealer added features one.

It might be a key immobolizer and that is a passive security feature and DOES go towards your insurance rates.

before you do anything find out how much said alarm is discounting your insurance before you do all this to find out it only saved you 20 a year :0

The kill switch and alarm that would have been programmed into my key would be an extra $280.
