Default What do you guys think of this car alarm?

I have to get one today so that I can call my insurance and have them switch it over to the new car.

Features

Remote start system: Keep your car cool on those hot summer days, and warm on those chilly winter mornings with this remote start system. You can start your vehicle from the comfort of your home, so when you are ready to leave the interior is comfortable.

Optional keyless entry: Lock or unlock your doors with the push of a button for added convenience and safety.

Defroster output: Set the defroster to turn on when you start your vehicle to clear away ice and snow while your car is warming up.

One auxiliary output: Expand the system's capabilities for added convenience with one auxiliary output.

Clone-Safe® Code-Hopping®: Random code alarms never send the same code twice, so a thief can't "grab" your code without you knowing it.

Features: Built-in Turbo Timer, built-in Miniature High Current XCR Mini Relays, and handy Parking Light Flash feature.

Includes: One 3-button transmitter

For use with fuel-injected, automatic transmission vehicles only. Some units require more parts and labor, like a bypass transponder, at an additional cost. For more information, contact a Circuit City car installation associate.

don't go with a cheap alarm. I have a top clifford one and even ran into issues where one of the circuits went bad. I had to rewire the thing after 3 years. IMHO, don't half-ass an alarm.

Also, this is going into a lease, right? Make sure it doesn't 1. void your warranty or 2. cost you $ at the end of the lease. It requires cutting of wires and could end up costing you at the end of the lease.

The first one I posted is parts & labor 12 months.

The second one is unlimited.

Fuck, they didn't tell me about that, but I asked them if I could get a regular alarm and they said yes.

If it is just a noise-maker, then they won't have to cut. It is just power and running of sensors. If it goes into your keyless entry, ignition, fuel pump, horn or anything like that, they have to cut.
