So there is a 70 yr old in there for bank robbery where nobody was injured. Understandibly, he did his crime and did the time but make room for the younger knuckleheads.

in California alone, the recidivism rate is 75%. Meaning that 3 of evey four convicts return within 4 months. Talk about a percentage.
but do you really get life in jail for a bank robbery where no one got hurt?

i think they should release some of the imates that commited "minor" infractions... but in the article they're talking about reducing even vilotant offenders. Thats just asking for toruble IMO

Its possible that it was the 3rd strike...we have that "3 strikes law".

P.S. An infraction is a speeding ticket. Maybe misdermeanors.

i'm all for it for many crimes like pot and prescription drugs or these guys who are in their 70's for crimes that didnt involve death or serious harm.

we lock so many people up these days for so many small things its fucking pathetic.

a gram? how much is that in american weed terms?

like less than an 1/8th ? an 1/8th is about 3 grams i believe ... so i think a gram would be like the lightest posession charge that state has so i dont think that would be a strike. thats like the littlest of little misdemeaners

oh ok then... here when you smoke a joint and get busted they usually just throw is dont the drain and give you a little shit scare you. They dont even serach you.

Great way would be not to legalize it but jjust be more tolerent like here. would free up space and make sure the next generation doesn't have to deal with this problem.
