Edit:
The National Firearms Act of 1934 makes it illegal for civilians to own machine guns without permission from the Federal Government. The National Firearms Act of 1934 levies a $200 tax on each newly manufactured machine gun and a $200 tax each time the ownership of the machine gun changes. In addition, each machine gun is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (BATF) in the National Firearms Registry.
To purchase an NFA weapon, you must submit two sets of fingerprints, a recent photo, a sworn affidavit that transfer of the NFA firearm is of "reasonable necessity," and that sale to and possession of the weapon by the applicant "would be consistent with public safety" and endure a background investigation. In addition, the application must be signed by a chief law enforcement officer with jurisdiction in the applicant's residence.
The National Firearms Act also regulates shotguns with barrels less than 18" or less than 26" overall length and rifles with barrels less than 16" or less than 26" length overall. The National Firearms Act also regulates firearm silencers. In addition the National Firarms Act regulates destructive devices such as bombs, grenades, rockets, missiles, and mines.

your talking nam and korea vintage ... those things were jam city back in the day
to me its more like this
you carry a gun for the what if"s of life
does that mean you drive a hummer, just in case of a car accident?
or do you make sure to test all your food at a restaurant just in case you were poisened?
these are just as ridiculous as needing a gun in my eyes, and i know you guys wont agree with that, but its how i see it
yes, just like you think that everyone should have the right to carry a gun because you want to carry one
i know of one friend of mine who has a ccw permit and carries at most times, i am around guns, but im around them less than someone who carries is
and a sheep because i dont carry? right, im sure you really believe that bs, if you think a gun can make you a lion and not a sheep i hope i am never around you with a gun
lets say that the number of guns any random person is around at any given moment is X
if that person is a ccw holder then that number is X+1
X+1>X
im not going to call it a causation, but there is a correlation between this number being higher and the probability of a gun crime happening to you
:tsk:
how can you be pro gun and then not register them correctly, i know its still "legal" but come the fuck on, you are sidestepping the rules and regulations that are in place for the safety of our country, and if anyone is to blame about the gun control issues of the US dont start pointing fingers at me
here is my basic idea of why i dont like people having guns
you are in a room with 20 people
say one guy in that room has a gun, how safe do you feel?
give every person in that room a gun, how safe do you feel now?
now take away all the guns in the room, how safe do you feel now?
how about put an armed guard outside the room, and no guns in the room, how about now?

personally i'd trust myself with a gun over a security guard with a gun so to answer your question, i'd feel safe with ME having a gun.
also, no one is side stepping shit by not "Registering" their firearms with the government. there is no registration outside of class 3.
furthermore, whats the point of registration? the only thing registration could possibly to is allow records keeping for the government for when they decide it's time to start confiscating. FUCK that.
also, wtf do you mean by "yes, just like you think that everyone should have the right to carry a gun because you want to carry one"
are you saying i'm wrong for wanting people to be able to have the right to carry? would it make more sense to you if i thought only I should be able to carry? :ugh:
let me ask you this. shootings occur at schools. schools are gun free zones. do you really think passing more laws will stop crime? i mean hell, if thats the case then there would never be any shootings in any gun free zones. because we all know criminals obey the law, right?
once you have the transferable lower you can upgrade/change any of the parts you want. the lower is all that matters as far as registration/transfer.
to clarify, the feds dont keep track of shit other than class 3. there are certain circumstances where paperwork is issued to the ATF (like purchasing multiple firearms at once) and also gun shops keep records of transfers but so those could theoretically be used against gun owners but thats why people prefer to buy guns FTF as opposed to having them transferred.
