Solution: HDMI / whatever into tv, optical out f/ TV to receiver. (make sure adjust the tv for surround sound out though)

I really want 1080P.

BUT

I have DirectTV and Dish Network, I think both make you pay extra for HDTV (on top of buying a HDTV receiver).

Directv bent me over on the HD switch. Too many promises that didn't make it to the bill I got. Customer service was ready to let me leave than make it right.

I think I'm gonna dump it soon, anyway. I miss the Tivo interface. :wtc:

I have had a 52" 1080p Samsung for over a month now and so far have not even seen anything in the highest resolution. :hs: I need to get a PS3 or something. And I tried to find settings on avsforum that really maximize the picture but couldn't really find anything that worked better than what I have it at now. h:
