i thought the difference in 720p and 1080p was minimal

 

It depends on the source material. If you have HD-DVD/Blu Ray and a 1080p panel, its worthwhile.

Other factors include screen size and the distance you are sitting from it.

Cable broadcasts at 720p.

 

7.5 feet for the benefit to start to become noticeable.

The bulb is 10 thousand dollars Last time I looked at the projector it was 100K.
