just messin around w/ the idea. im a total noob when it comes to ink and dont know what, if any, are some concerns w/ gettin some work done. id like to get my name written in its original chinese characters

my calligraphy skills arent the greatest and i was wondering if the person givin me the tattoo would be able to draw it up well enough or if id need to make my own sketch. again, i have no idea how the process works so maybe you guys could fill me in. thanks, guys

Yeah, but they have to be the one to re-draw it to make sure it's a design they can do accurately.

Have a calligrapher draw up the characters the size that you want the tattoo, that way you have what you want and hopefully it will be right.

ask to see their portfolio, most artists keep a scrapbook of the work they do so they can reference it for people not sure what they want or people who want to question their credibility.

but remember, the best guys cost the most money. and some of the lower guys can do some things just as good.
