HAN AR crew v. suggestions

spanks turned me onto it a long time ago, theres full writeups of lower assembly with pics and all kinds of help and parts for sale ...
i might wind up spending about 10-20 more by piecing it all together myself or i might save about 20 but either way i'd rather do it all myself. i mean i feel you lose a bit of the fun if you buy it in 2 pieces and thats all you have to put together.

I really don't know anything about stag so I really can't help you there. I do prefer to buy the upper and lower from the same company. In theory they should all fit together fine but I think you stand a better chance of a perfect fit if you go with the same company. Oh and since you have an FFL connection have him order the misc parts for you. He should be able to get dealer pricing at Midway, Brownell's, and maybe some other places.
and i called my dad today to have him send me a couple lil tools i dont wanna buy since he has them and he's already itching to test it out on the groundhogs tearing up his fields... that is of course after he said i shouldnt tell my mom im spending my money on a new gun

Only tool you need for the lower is a pair of pliers. There is a how to on ar15.com that is pretty good. The thing is EASY to put together. You will just need some patience. The hardest part is putting in the detent pin spring. I would HIGHLY suggest doing that step in a box or bag. Because the pin will be under pressure from the spring, one little slip and the pin will be flying across your room. Also, tape the ends of your pliers so you dont scratch the lower.
Lowers are 90% the same thing...you can pick up bare lowers for $100. Tempting for another one
