can you take / find a better pic of the rear of your PC?

if you just need enough, why not go the analog route with the 3 RCA/miniplug if you have the outputs :dunno:

that pic is just what i found on google images. room is not a problem cause i can just buy a bunch of cables on monoprice.

ricardo said it doesnt sound good. i really want it to work properly. ie. front channel is loudest for voice, surround is ambient etc...do you have the 3 rca setup?

coax = optical it's just a different transmission type... you'll get the same quality out of it.

ok....i figure i should just get a nice card. eventually when i upgrade to a new tower this one i have now will be my htpc, not for recording, just video playback.

the card wagz has for 99 bucks seems to have the greatest reviews.

i wonder if i can get a different manufacturer for the same chipset and still get good quality

this one uses the same chipset. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16829271001

for $20 less and just as good reviews. also has coax out.

If you are using a digital out, you don't really need a real expensive card with 24 bit DA converter or whatever since it is pretty much just taking the digital soundtrack and just relaying it your reciever. The reciever is where the magic happens. Just a thought.

Or just get a new MB with an HDMI out if your receiver can handle it.
