what if you don't want one? not everyone in this world wants a house, a family, and a boat.

I think your opinion will change once you leave the comfort of owning two cars while living at mom's.

life·style also life-style or life style (līf'stīl') Pronunciation Key
n. A way of life or style of living that reflects the attitudes and values of a person or group:

_____

it's about choices. and living well to one person is living in poverty to another. maybe you require more than i do.

So if you didn't have family to stay with rent-free, what would you do? Some people don't have that luxury, and must work to survive. That is not a choice that they made.

Yeah but if you're sharing one house with 4 people, you're not living a "middle class" lifestyle. You're living a college kid's lifestyle, which is strongly below a standard middle class lifestyle.

it was the extreme side of things, you can live alone and accomplish the same thing.

do any of you realize what median income in this country is for a household, and how many of those people fall under the term "middle class?"

Do you realize that not every town/city/state has the same costs that california does? Go to BFE middle america and you can get a near mansion for 300k, support a family and live very well for 40-50k...what does that get you in some parts of California? Barely anything.

God, you're the worst arguer in the world. I never said that you said family. I'm saying, that's what 40-50k can get you.

You're failing to realize that "middle class" is a relative term based on location and cost of living in that area.
