Jet Lag is not a placebo (wrong usage of the word). What Craig probably meant is that it's a figment of your imagination. And I partially agree. I mean, I traveled across the globe, which should have supposedly messed up my "bio rhythms", but I was able to adjust to the new time zone almost instantaneously. I think it's real, but people just buy into their own tiredness/wiredness way too easily and attribute it to Jet Lag. In fact, I once knew someone that was still blaming their shit on jet lag like FOUR DAYS AFTER they had gotten back. That is just ridiculous.
uuugggh try going to asia for a whole month and coming back and doing your normal routine. I had to go to work the next day after spending a whole month in vietnam and I would wake up at 3am as oppose to 7am for 3 to 4 days straight. I got use to it after that.

I went the opposite way for 3 weeks, and was absolutely fine when I got home.
