But yeah anyways just use the thick black rubber bungie type straps and you will be fine. Actually if I were you I would test fit them one time just to be sure you know how to put them on the right way...it can get confusing when the snow is blowing and you are on the side of the road.

why put them on yourself when you can pay someone else to do the dirty work?

well usually when they begin to require chains or it starts snowing, they have guys on the side of the road, like a few miles before its mandatory you have chains... or atleast thats how it is here when going to reno/tahoe.

So if you get out into some place where they aren't patrolling the roads and there is nobody there to put on your chains for you and you are stuck what are you going to do then?

If you aren't prepared you may be dead...continue in your narrow thinking with no pre-planning and we will be reading about people like you in the paper...just look at that moron who almost killed his family last year in Oregon by not being prepared and not making sure of where he was going.

Shit happens learn to plan

good point but i would honestly never go in places like that were i can get lost, i dont think will is going to go exploring the sierra, and im sure will is smart enough to not get lost or to that point where he needs to survive, but i see your point.
my point personally is if i cant or wont do it myself, and there is no one there i can pay to do it, i just wont go, or expose myself like that.

and my point is conditions change when you are in the high country in a matter of hours and sometimes minutes. So while you drove up to the lodge in perfect sunny conditions your leave home may end up with you halfway into a mountain pass and suddenly it is blinding snow...whats your lazy ass gonna do now?
