Yea that is the main reason why.

That and my tires has a few miles on them.

just install a salt dispenser in front of your wheel wells. then you dont need chains

You won't need chains. 70% or more tread on an allseason tire on a FWD car is more than sufficient.

we had like an inch on the road yesterday and this cougar was going 5mph fishtailing everywhere, it was pretty funny.

chains are for n00bs.

my accord got plowed in (about 2ft high or so) i shoveled it out a little (just by the front tires) and made it out no problem

Uhh you have never been over Donner Pass and seen the amount of snow it gets

But yeah anyways just use the thick black rubber bungie type straps and you will be fine. Actually if I were you I would test fit them one time just to be sure you know how to put them on the right way...it can get confusing when the snow is blowing and you are on the side of the road.
