Vera got screwed. No way did Sylvia win two rounds. The closest he got was winning rd 3, and MAYBE a draw in Rd 1. Vera dominated Rd 2, and landed a few good shots in Rd 1...all Sylvia did in Rd 1 was pin him against the cage...like a fat kid sitting on a smaller one and doing nothing.

So Dana was hinting in the pre fight conferences that if Randy does decide to resign that he will pit Sylvia against Nogueira for the HW title. Yay. A guy that barely squeaked out a decision against a fighter that hasn't fought competitiveley in almost a year against a fighter that lost his last fight to a no talent ogre. With Randy resigning and Cro Cop not fighting up to expectations, the HW division blows.
In other news there are rumors going around that Rich Franklin is considering retirement after his loss to Anderson Silva...

I didn't hear the post fight interviews (was at a sports bar) but I heard that Sylvia called out Kongo a.k.a. avoiding Big Nog.
As for Franklin, there isn't anybody besides Silva that he wasn't beaten and a rubber match between both of them would most likely end the same way. The only person I'd like to see Silva fight now is "Decision" Dan Henderson and Paulo Filho but it's all in the air for now with Filho having the same manager as Silva and Henderson not saying anything about switching weight classes.
As of right now there isn't anybody in the UFC that can give him any problems.
Okami is a wildcard at best.
Kang just signed with K-1.
Filho isn't leaving WEC for a while and has a fight lined up soon enough.
Lindland is never going back to the UFC thanks to Dana White.

I thought Vera would be a lot better than he was. I should have figured Sylvia would win because he doesn't let fights go to the ground and Vera just cant stand up with Tim. I actually think Vera won the fight in a split decision. How Sylvia managed to get a unanimous decision out of it is beyond me. He lost round 1 and was dominated in round 2. Granted Tim won round 3 but still should have lost the fight.
Franklin/Silva went just about how Franklin/Silva 1 went. Rich did look better but he is no match for Anderson's striking abilities. Silva was coming at him with punches, kicks, elbows while delivering knees. Rich was just overwhelmed. As a fighter I give it up to him because he recognizes when he was outmatched and hats off to Anderson for being so classy with the win. I dont see Silva being beaten. He is just a beast

I agree. I gave Vera round 1 and 2. I can see where the judges could have given Sylvia round 1 and 3. There is no way Sylvia won round 2. Regardless the fight was close. Neither fighter dominated the fight. Sylvia just made sure to keep it as boring as possible so he had the best chance to win
I need to have a little self control after I win all of this money.
I asked our waitress what's the biggest tip she's ever received after the card and said $100. I gave her $150 afterwards after already tipping her $15 for all of the food/drink that night. ~_~
