pc startup....
do you have your msconfig stripped down to bare startup, everything on, or somewhere in between??
me personally, i have it stripped down....only anti-virus on startup. then i start yahoo messenge, aim, myspace messenger (occasionally) & every once in awhile run atomtime after it starts up

i left it as whatever vista has it set to. i personally use msn,yahoo messenger and aim for business so i have those starting up as well as the antivirus.

i guess what i'm getting at....& i see this all the time doing dsl instals on pcs that take FOREVER to startup....all the crap that doesn't need to run all the f'n time like:
quicktime
musicmatch jukebox
aol (not aim)
adobe updater
google toolbar update checker
itunes (huge resource hog)
etc....
