I was thinking about seeing a concert in Canada in a few weeks, but I wasn't sure what I needed to get into Canada. I've never been out of the US and don't have a passport, and I know there were talks about requiring passports for land crossings a few times in the recent past.

Does anyone know if I need a passport to land cross into Canada?

You need your passport now if you want to cross the border. Didn't used to be like this.

 

I would be more worried about what you need to get back here. I seem to remember my dad was stuck up there, and we had to send him paperwork to get back to the US.

I think he just used a his army ID, but they wouldn't take just that to come back.. odd

I guess they will accept your birth certificate...

 

Thats why I was confused, everyone is going back and forth,,, but right now I think you only need one to get in by air
