i've moved all my savings to washington mutual where the interest is higher and more convenient for me since i already do checking there.
They have checking available called "electric orange".

Transfers between your electric orange checking account and your saving account are instant, and money can be withdrawn at a large number of ATM's.

Note: If you decided to get both the ing checking and savings, deposit into checking, and move what you want to keep to savings. If you make a lot of transfers from savings to checking they get mad at you

u guys ever tried leaving money in ur paypal account. they have a money market profit that u get. i think i get around 5.20% every now and then. (might be quarterly) but i've never paid attention to see how good it is.
i was thinking about leaving like 100 bucks in there and see what happens, but i have money going in and out of that account so often that i can't even keep a track of it.

I think every now and then i get about half a dollar or less. but i never have enough money in that account.
i think i'll try leaving about 100 bucks in my account. and see how much i get back.

Whats wrong with shorter term CDs?

I have one and for the past year or so, its earning a bit more than an online savings account. :dunno:

I have an ING account, the pros and cons you guys already laid out.

I also have an Emigrant account, the interface is not as nice as ING...but whatever I look at it maybe once a month. And it earns more than ING.

I also had HSBC...fuck em It was a royal PITA to change my account into a joint account. They gave me the run around on what I needed to do.
