see I kinda get it but i dont see it as you buying the map packs again. in anycase even the first map packs that came out became free to download 6 months later right? just think of it as making it free after a long time of being chargeble.
I'm happy they are included as i didn't downloaded them and was waiting for ODST h:
You're not. You're paying for an entirely new game. And as a bonus, you get 3 extra maps for Halo 3.
ODST is not just an expansion. It's a different game.
I'd only be buying it for the multiplayer. According to IGN, the multiplayer is pretty much the same game w/ 3 new maps. "The gameplay, matchmaking, and general layout is unchanged from Halo 3, so don't expect to go into this game with the ODST's sweet pistol or silenced SMG. This is simply more of the Halo 3 adversarial game you've been playing for the past couple of years."http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/102/1025307p4.html
Are you guys really that excited about another Halo campaign that only lasts for approximately 6 hours?
Firefight does seem like it would be fun, but I doubt I would play this very often. I already have this on GOW2, but have only played it a few times.
To me, this game is all about the standard multiplayer. Had this been 12 new maps with some new weapons in addition to the campaign and firefight, I would have pre-ordered for sure.

I think only the first map pack was available for free once the new one came out. I may be wrong. I don't spend very much time playing H3 anymore.
To me, you are paying for everything included with the game. People who didn't buy the maps originally are certainly paying for the maps they never had. I don't think those are freebees. A freebee would be if they let everyone download the map packs free without needing to buy a new game, which I would not have a problem with.
