Remember 9/11.
Ya know, I had something very long and meaningful typed up, but right before I clicked "reply", I erased it all. Thanks to all the idiots for turning this thread into a huge argument instead of a memorial for those who lost their lives in the attack of the Twin Towers, to those who are fighting, and to those who have fought.
Remember those who have died, and keep those that have lost a loved one in your prayers, for today is still very real to them. They have to live with that pain every day, and its a disgrace to them and the dead when someone says to get over what happened.

woke up late for work. turned on the tv, i was like crazyness. went to work, freeway seemed weird, everyone was driving slow, prolly listenin to the radio. got to work, everyone was glued to the radio. i got fired for lateness around xmas time after 3 years of service :exnbp:.
i posted this as a day of remembrance, not to argue over 'getting over it' and 'dwelling on the past'
my opinion is that by remembering the past, it keeps those of us that care, grounded and everything in perspective. remembering why we are here and all that.
and i dont think its fair to compare pearl harbor to 9/11. pearl harbor was an attack on a naval base .. 9/11 was a direct attack on american civilians. i think thats a significant difference.

I remember waking up early because my mom's tv in her room was blaring. I was half awake and stumbled in to see what all the fuss was about. I saw the tower on fire and thought the same as Craig did, "Oh a little plane flew into the tower. Probably an accident." Was just about to head back to bed when the second plane flew into the tower. Didn't know what to say. My mom gasped and just said, "Oh my god." I'll never forget it as long as I live nor do I want to. It was our Kennedy assassination, our Pearl Harbor. How can you forget about something that changed our lives? Its why we stand in lines for hours to get on a plane instead of arriving at the last minute possible and hopping on the plane like it was a bus. Some of us weren't there as it happened but it affected everyone. I remember listening on the way to school as a plane flew into the Pentagon. I drove by a nuclear weapons lab everyday and fighter jets were scrambled all over the area. It was surreal. I'll remember those who were killed and those who gave their lives trying to save others and I'll do it every year. I for one will never forget the day war and terrorism was brought to my door step
I remember catching the first flight back home when they started to let people fly into JFK airport and I'll never forget when I was siting in my room hearing fighter jets fly over my apt. Never in my life have I ever saw or heard jets in Manhattan and I'll never forget the smell in the air that stunk so bad.
This video hit me pretty hard. Its a 911 call during the tower collapse
