Remember 9/11.
Talk about the lives of over 3,000 people? Okay.
To this day, stories are still done on December 7th regarding Pearl Harbor. It will never cease. And for good reason. 9/11 was the most prolific attack on US soil in the history of the US. I don't think its a matter of moving on; people aren't wandering the streets wondering what to do next, they have moved on and continued their lives. There is a big difference between "moving on" and recalling historic events to learn from them and be moved by them.

In most instances, it's beyond "recalling historic events" and just unessacary dwelling. Last year, CNN played their entire 9/11 day broadcast, starting at the exact time the first plane hit. Why.. what the hell purpose does that serve? Here, let's all watch again first hand how thousands of people lost their lives. UT! Let me rewind it.. OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER.
On the 50th anniversery of Pearl harbor, my great uncle was there, to remember that day and to spend it with the people who were effected the most. He doesn't go back, year after year to relive something so horrific.
Let me know what's up on 9/11/51

If you don't want to relive these events by seeing tributes and other memorials on TV, the turn the TV off, take a day of solice, and do whatever you do. Brushing over it wont do anything.
Last year was 5 years, deemed signficant in most people's eyes (half a decade). They haven't done it every year. Besides, whats stopping you from not watching the channel? It's not like you're being forced to watch. For those who find it important to be reminded of such events, it's a important to renew their emotions and to "never forget" as overhyped saying goes.

... hunh..... guess you go both ways then, depending on your mood?

And I didn't watch the channel. I was just aware that that's what they planned to do.
That's where we met
