A flash drive in gold? Sheesh. I'm trying to think of another fun one to do. If I had an NES controller that didn't work, I'd use that, just for fun.

I think it would look better if you used a retractable system instead of the end always being exposed, but it is a cool idea.

I thought of that too but there isn't enough room for that. I might try to extend the battery a little and do that. I think one of my other drives is shorter, so I might swap it out and have the bronze band be a lid that can come off.

I have a 2 gig I am going to use to test a couple designs then swap it out for a 16 gig flash drive for the final.

What are you putting it into? Must be big to be able to fit a 16 gig flash drive.
How much was the 16?

I dont even think that the largest solid state drive.


I am trying to make one out of a chap stick tube...with it being retractable. I just need to figure out something non-conductive to fill the tube with so the drive will hold steady...but it also have to be able to move up and down along the inside of the tube.
