Default workout crew....preventing shin splints

what are some ways you guys prevent shin splints? i know stretching is an important part and i stretch for at least 10 minutes before i go out running.

i bought new running shoes about 3 weeks ago. for the first 2 weeks i was breaking them in and getting used to them i didnt have any problems. only the past week i've been having problems. i used to be able to run almost a half mile before my legs started to burn. now, i cant even go a quarter mile without me legs feeling like they're about to explode.

stretching AFTER a run is even more important than stretching before.

If you're serious about running, you need to go to a running store that can analyze you as you run and find the appropriate running shoes. Nike is notorious among real runners for putting out bad running shoes. You need to look into New Balance, Saucony, or Asics.

I hearted my Sauconys. NB and Asics were about on the same level for me, but my Sauconys always were the most comfortable and durable.
