gun owners v protection
Ever been sprayed with pepper spray? Not much you can compare it too and if you have felt it then you would realize most other items aside from mace only cause an irritation in comparison.
I honestly don't understand why a person would even take the slightest chance with the protection of their life or the protection of their families lives by trying to go cheap with things like this. It's just fucking stupid and as I said before it will only serve to escalate the situation exponentially.
Do it once and do it right, take no risks with your life or your families...the belongings honestly mean nothing if you lose the lives of your family.

have you ever been on a debate team lol
Nope never on debate team but since the thread was about home security and not defense against some dumbass mutt that should have been punted for chasing people I don't see why you bothered to post about it.

since Mr22 brought up paintball guns. What does one think of having a paintball pistol to at least cause a bit of pain and open up a chance for disarming the intruder? I think it'd be alot easier to shoot that at someone because you know you wont have killed them.
Just curious.
Just curious.
Personally, I'm more afraid of going to prison for life than being killed (even in self defense you can get put away
) and so although I have a 30 ot 6 in my bedroom closet, I'd rather use a paintball gun if I saw someone messing with my car, for example.IMO, anything more than a couple years in prison seems worse than death.
:chuckles: I didn't realize at first how somber and depressing that seems in print.
Didn't mean to bring down the mood

Sounds like a good idea to me

John is right. We use to do high stress drills when I worked for the SO. We would have an instructior run at us from 15 feet while we'd try to drop and reload a mag in time to shoot him. Nobody could do it. Things go down a lot differently in real life, high stress situations rather than shooting targets that dont move and pose no threat to you
