Sounds like a good idea to me
Personally, I'm more afraid of going to prison for life than being killed (even in self defense you can get put away
) and so although I have a 30 ot 6 in my bedroom closet, I'd rather use a paintball gun if I saw someone messing with my car, for example.
IMO, anything more than a couple years in prison seems worse than death.
