What's your take on birth control???
I use Trinessa which is generic for Ortho Tri Cyclean
I get it free with my insurance so major plus there.
My friend's mom had breast cancer so she was also concerned with the pill increasing her chance of getting cancer as well so my friend switched to the nuva ring which she enjoys.
I did a lot of research into what to take and then it just made my head hurt. I would go to the doctor with your concerns about taking birth control and they are really good about it. They talked to me over a half hour about when I asked so they are quite knowledgeable on all the different methods. I am sure you'll find out more than you want to

At first I thought it was you.......til I read the s/n. :chuckles:
He'll probably enjoy that.
Oh geez!! I'd say go for the BC if you don't want to wear a condom anymore....gotta be safe if you're not quite ready for the bebe!
I've taken ortho tricyclen lo (low hormone dose = less mood swings ftw) and seasonale which allows girls to only have their period every 3 months. I have had VERY minimal side effects on ortho tricyclen-lo (I'm on that now) except for severe headaches right before my period, but I've always had headaches right before...now they're just a little worse and I can take migraine meds to get rid of those. Other than that...no side effects. Seasonale, on the other hand, had a lot of side effects...periods were way off schedule, "break through bleeding"...annoying shit!!
As for weight gain, none of my girlfriends have gained a noticable amount of weight on any form of birth control EXCEPT for the shot.
Make sure she has a good memory if she chooses the pill - I have a HORRIBLE memory so I had to set an alarm on my cell. Its also good if she can try to take it at the same time every day...my doc said that makes it more effective. :dunno:
