selective service system
but on a serious note, the only reasons I can see for being denied are:
1. You have a big criminal record and couldn't get the waivers to go through
2. Didn't pass the drug test
3. Didn't meet the weight restrictions
4. Severe Color blindness
there's probably other reasons...but those are off of the top of my head

There are a lot of physical/health reasons. One of my friends was not accepted into the Navy because he donated a kidney. Another was because his sense of smell is not terribly good from some previous surgery.

FYI for all you standing here saying they wont take you cuz your a college student. Thats not true. nowhere in the Selective service website will it say that college students are deferred from being drawn in a lottery. in fact, the only students that are mentioned when it comes to elegibility classifications are those that are in military training.
so dont think just because your in college your safe, cuz as far as i know your most def not
edit: ok for you college kids this is straight from uncle sam:
Under the current draft law, a college student can have his induction postponed only until the end of the current semester. A senior can be postponed until the end of the academic year.
