I registered a loooong time ago when I turned 18. Interesting... A while back, they used to have all kinds of ads talking about it. I would have thought that now with the military stretched so thin, that that would still be the case. I guess there must be political reasons behind the lack of promotion these days.

My high school Civics teacher used to give them to guys on their 18th bdays to fill out.

my dad filled it out and sent it in without me even knowing on my 18th birthday. I was watching a commercial or something for it and was like fuck that they aren't gettin me...my dad just smiled and said "oh yes they are" asshole :chuckles:

How would you feel if you were called upon to serve your country (War)?
I wouldn't like it at first because i'd be leaving my family & gf, but then again, if it means protecting them and people I care about i'd give it 110%.

They'd be doing me a favor. I attempted to join the Army (yes, during wartime) but was denied.

but on a serious note, the only reasons I can see for being denied are:
1. You have a big criminal record and couldn't get the waivers to go through
2. Didn't pass the drug test
3. Didn't meet the weight restrictions
4. Severe Color blindness
there's probably other reasons...but those are off of the top of my head
