If the Recirc valves are somewhat bad, why use them?

The MS3 has a recirc valve instead of a BOV.

cars that use a MAF need them

if you have a MAP system you dont. but recirculating them will be quieter. but who wants that? :run:

some recirc's can barely hold the factory boost settings, so as soon as you upgrade anything that will cause increased boost levels at the same wastegate setting (upgraded exhaust/intake/ecu/more efficient intercooling/etc), that poor recirc valve will leak boost.

^^I am already boosting 16PSI so I am not touching anything on this motor.

How does one know if I have a MAF or MAP system.

I dont think Mazda would cheap out on your MS3's bypass valve. if it can hold 16, it can probably hold a good amount more.
