I met my Weight goal!!!
Well...when I enlisted in December...my weight was something like 197.4lbs. That was before Christmas and New Years...and I put on about 4lbs during those holidays. So before I started going to the YMCA I weighed roughly 201lbs. Well as of today I weigh 184lbs. My goal was to get to 185lbs before I ship to Basic in June. I lost 1 more pound than I set my goal as...now I'm just gonna see how much I can lose before I leave. I'm losing it slow, which I hear is better. I have another 2 months to get as much done physically as possible, so I'm gonna buckle down on my running, push-ups and sit ups.
All I've been doing to lose this weight is playing basketball. I play atleast 1-2 hours of 4 on 4, full court basketball every day. It's a great workout. And they keep it hot in the gym, so that helps me sweat even more. I played for almost 3 hours today, and I felt great. My legs are a little tired now, but I feel good overall.
Just wanted to announce my mini-success...anybody else been doing well with their weight-loss adventures?

Congrats thats a big loss in a relativley short time.
I am getting ready to change up my workout goals for a trim down and focus more on a cardio workout as well. Gonna keep doing weights but I want to qualify for enlistment by the end of the year and be below weight instead of sliding through.

Also cutting out the fast food's helped out a lot, too.
Thanks. I figured Cardio was best for me. I should be doing more weights, too...but I'm looking for weightloss at the moment. I figured Basketball would be the funner way to get me started. Then it just turned into something I had to do all the time, and it helped. But as far as slimming down, cardio is the way to go. Getting that heart rate up and holding it up is the best way to burn calories.

yeah, it's really amazing what doing cardio has done for me. I haven't really seen any changes in my body's appearance...but then again I look at it every day, so little changes wouldn't be as noticeable. But I have noticed some change in my endurance and energy levels. I don't really have much energy during work, but I think it's b/c I don't have any caffeine and b/c it's hot in the body shop. But once I get out on the court and start running around, I have a ton of energy. I think I played something like 10 full court games for almost 3 hours today. And 4 months ago if I played 3 games in 2 hours I was done for.

. I shouldn't have ate it, but it's what was there. But I didn't eat it all..my appetite isn't what it was 4 months ago.
