Higher ups are only there to make sure the company is running smoothly, they spread their resposibilities through managers/supervisors/etc..... everyone's job under them is to keep it running within their expectations....

with their expectations. even put into terms they could understand they have no interest in even cost efficient spending to increase productivity. My company has this problem. They dont look at tomorrow. They only look at today. They dont invest. Dude I work 85+ hrs a week and it would reduce their costs and increase productivity to hire a second engineer. My overtime alone would pay for another engineer plus a significant amount on the debit side of their balance sheets. You know why they wont hire one? They can not see past the original wage that would have to be paid to hire someone with the knowledge.

some people on this planet "get it". most dont.
