People have told me I am best to live south of 100th St in Manhattan, and the Queens / Brooklyn neighborhoods I previously mentioned. I am not afraid of fringe areas, but would prefer not to live in one.
When I went to Manhattan a few years ago, I stayed in an apartment on 152nd St between Broadway and Amsterdam. Needless to say, I stuck out like a sore thumb. :chuckles: I went to the market and stuff myself though and didn't have too many problems. I only stayed there for a little over a week but I can see a permanent residence in that area being possible depending on your personal situation.
