Default Running crew?

Quick question on running.

I have been running for the last week or two now and making good improvements overall. My problem is when I went to run the other day I couldn't meet my usual goal because I developed a stitch in my side.

is there a way to prevent this from happening or is it just a conditioning matter to get past it?

Kind of frustrating to go from a huge improvement in a short time to a huge sudden drop

I would assume it's just from not being used to running...I'm sure you'll get over it. Make sure your posture is good while you run.

Yeah thats my guess as well. I am pretty good about my posture while I run but it may have been a factor the last time I went.

I am off to the gym now so I guess I will see if it is any better. I also have to workout light for a while because I am on the edge of an injury from over training I need to slow down a little I guess, trying to do too much at once as usual.

I can't do eliptical it actually hurts more than running due to the limited range of motion. My stride is longer than the machines will allow which is why I switched to treadmill.

Yeah you're gonna get em. Couple things you can do. You can consider going slower, but longer. Make sure your posture is good, as Brett said. Be sure to breathe regularly, make it a rhythm. And, you can stretch you abdomen, doing something like a cobra yoga pose. ANd be sure to do crunches and stuff, that will help too.

yeah, dont worry it happens sometimes. make sure you get nice and limber w/ stretching and warm ups. try to be hydrated before your run, and that doesnt mean drink 12oz of water immediately prior to liftoff h:

breathing should be controlled, as im sure you know, so try not to huff out your breath. it'll put more pressure on whichever leg youre landing on when you do
