It is just how the cooling jackets are designed. Some say closed is better and others say open is better. I run an open deck on an all motor build pushing 11.7:1 compression and haven't had a single issue yet.

A lot of people will say that open deck is an inherent weakness due to the thickness of the cylinder walls but I have yet to hear of anyone who has had a failure due to this. I suppose if you abue the piss out of your car it could be a flaw, if you take care of your junk it should be a moot point.

New Si's are so slow but are fun. And they respond really well to basic bolt ons and some ECU tweaks.

The interior is too weird for my tastes though.

I hardly think the new Si is slow. I had alot of fun driving the roommates 06 Si coupe. STICKS to the road. =)

I am the type to hit VTEC a few times in my daily commute but cant say I abuse my cars. Nothing outside the realm of some fun driving. Def not the type to be doing stupid things. Just like some performance in my ride.

compared to other cars out there the Si can be a dog... personally i think that it should be updated to the K24, honestly, instead of being a mechanical clone of the older RSX

If it were a K24 it would be the same as an RSX type S. hen they would have to up the Ante with the RSX/TSX. Hell I wish I could afford a TSX... theyre freakin sweet. I saw an EG hatch with a TSX donor.. that was hot

Car reviews of the Si compared to other cars in the segment put the Si way up there. Of course thats until stuff like the Volvo T5 powered Focus ST gets here along with the MazdaSpeed3 thats already made its debut.. I thnk maybe its time for Honda to get into some forced induction like the RDX. VTEC might not be cutting the cake in the performance arena anymore but cant really say that rapping out 8-9000rpm shifts in a K isnt fun lol
