the coke trick still works. But I noticed that they have started using a different machine that has a little cup for the bottle instead of the belt.

Doesn't sound worth it to me. I'd rather just count my own change. I bet I could give it to work if I wanted.

I wouldn't want to try it and still end up with the iTunes card.

I thought that if you selected the Amazon GC or iTunes GC it didn't take any % anyway? I understand that a GC isn't quite as nice as cash, but I know I'll eventually buy something on Amazon anyway and I'd rather do that than screw with the machine in front of countless King Sooper's employees.

Commerce Bank does it for free, and you do not need an account with them. My bank in TX does it free as well, but only for members.

I roll my own and pay myself the 9%...

I have a piggy bank for quarters only. I have a jar for pennies only, and they get donated to some charity and they can count them, all the nickles and dimes go in the car for parking meters.

WaMu won't count my coins, instead they told me I should get paper coin rolls and count them myself :ugh:

So I just use the CoinStar because it's hassle free.

I have a separate spot for quarters, which is for laundry. Everything else goes in my piggy bank. I just emptied it and counted it out, and it was almost $40. Still saving it though, for a rainy day.
