they (dealer) wont change the tranny unless the CEL, and D4 lights are on, and the tranny is shifting erratically.

drew has a v6 accord too

Chris/98Coupe has a v6.... 1st tranny failed after he powerflushed it.... his replacement(used) tranny is still running strong

Ok, I can agree with the first 2 points, but great body style? :hsugh:

Oh, and it sounds like it's already a done deal. Good luck with it. It sounds like it should serve your needs well.

Jani - so the dealer won't replace it if the cel/light isn't on even though you can feel the tranny starting to give out (I'm just assuming - Will test drive it throughly next week)

agent87 - I think it's the greatest looking Accord Coupe there was. Best Sedan is still the 94-95 5th gen.

My opinion is different but I respect yours. Truth be told, I've actually entertained the thought of getting a V6 Accord in the past because I know they're good cars. Only the transmission issues have made me think twice. Keep us updated.

i would stick with spending money on the 4G63 instead. everyone uses the 240 in the family, so it will stay auto, and stock.

when it came to the 00-01 tranny under the recall... the D4 light had to be on, and the tranny had to be shifting erratically, for honda to consider it dead.

the 98, 99, and 02, are not part of the extended 7year/100k warranty..... But, alot of people have been able to get honda to pay for a tleast 50% of the cost of replacement.

Hm, I thought it's for all 6th Gen because my friend just received a letter about it. They extended to all 6th Gen/109K miles now I think. I have to double check
