So I want a MacBook
Before the anti-Apple sentiments start up, I have one question:
For $1,500, is there a better performing laptop that is as durable as the MacBook, w/3 year service? I can get the education discount from Apple.
I am open to other ideas, but as far as I am concerned, this is the best deal out there. I have a Gateway now which was an absolute POS. Hell, the first one fell apart and was replaced and the second one has followed suit rather nicely. I just want something that is built relatively well and will perform.

Dell's Inspiron 1505 line is quite nice. For about $700, you're loaded with a 120gb HDD, internal wi-fi, XP (w. Vista upgrade), 1gb RAM, DVD-R, 15.4 widescreen, and a dual core chip.
