Not bad. I just thought that Dell had the same issues as Gateway.

I should add that I want portability. My Gateway is about 7 lbs and it sucks to tote it.

My brother, my sister and I all have Acer laptops. They are great.

I've worked on many Dell laptops outside of work and other than user caused issues, Dell was always very helpful.

At work we use a kaleidescope of laptops, mostly IBM, some acers and toshiba's. Worked on a sony and gateway here an there too. IBM's are great, but then I've got the company backing so they are probably more forgiving. We get nice prompt service from them.

Yes. There are a lot of brands. These are just the large main ones.
Theres a smaller Korean company that makes really really good laptops. I guess they're big in some places, just trying to hit the US markets.

IBM....im on my 4th ibm notebook and ive loved everyone....awesome...easily upgradeable...durable...

i cant complain. other than that i am a fan of the dell models as well as acer

we've had our dell notebook for 2+ years and it's still running strong..

we also have plenty of older dells at work..
