check craigslist and the local paper or garage sales
people sell benches and free weights for next to nothing constantly, i guarantee if you check for a few days you will see a handful of decent prospects pop up
as far as working out at home a decent bench will get you pretty far
combine that with situps and pushups, a pullup bar, wall sits, calf raises, and running or some type of cardio you will get a great workout

i have only free wts and have limited space, too. i use a large exercise ball and my multi riser step. u can lie down on the step its full length and it can be adjusted with the risers..some exercises u can do on the couch. 1 arm rows u can just put your knee and hand on the couch..i dont lift the large amounts u guys lift.

So I found one that I liked. It has a decline, flat, and incline...and the best thing about it is that it folds flat to store away. And I have 90 days to return it if I change my mind h:
