Default Antec P180 vs Antec Sonata II

Antec P180:
http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=81800
A case without compromise, whether Silver or Black The P180 is truly a revolutionary breakthrough in case design. Dual chambers isolate the power supply and CPU into separate cooling zones with up to 5 configurable fans. Three-layer sound-deadening panels dampen noise even in very high-performance systems. Ease-of-use, sleek design and Antec’s reputation for quality make the P180 worthy of being the first in a new category we call the Advanced Super Mid Tower.
• Unique upper and lower chamber structure The power supply resides in a separate chamber to isolate heat from the system and lower system noise
• Innovative three-layer side panels and front door (aluminum, plastic, aluminum) dampen system noise, making this one of the quietest cases available
• Cooling System:
- 1 rear (standard) 120mm TriCool™ Fan with 3-speed switch control
- 1 top (standard) 120mm TriCool™ Fan
- 1 lower chamber (standard) 120mm TriCool™ Fan
- 1 front (optional) 120mm fan
- 1 middle (optional) 120mm fan to cool graphics cards
- Upper drive cage can be used as a duct to provide fresh air to graphics cards
• Maximum expandability with 11 Drive Bays
- External 4 x 5.25"; 1 x 3.5"
- Internal 6 x 3.5" for HDD
• Motherboard: Fits micro and standard ATX
• Double hinge front door designed to open up to 270º
• 7 Expansion Slots
• Front Ports
- 2 x USB 2.0
- 1 x IEEE 1394 (FireWire®, i.Link®)
- Audio In and Out
• Material: 0.8mm cold rolled steel for durability through the majority of chassis, 1.0mm cold rolled steel around the 4x HDD area
• To optimize performance of your P180 the choice of your power supply is crucial. Antec strongly recommends choosing from our Phantom, NeoHE or TruePower series
• Silicone grommets in the hard drive cages absorb vibrations and reduce noise
• Built in washable air-filter
• Dimensions: 54cm (H) x 20.5cm (W) x 50.7cm (D)
21.3"(H) x 8.1"(W) x 19.9"(D)
I love the p180. It looks sleek and nice. It has lots of room inside(6 internal hard drive bays). I have 3 hard drives as of now and am planning on getting a raptor for my main hard drive. I want to have extra room in case I need more hard drives and cannot replace some. The hard drive bays slide out very nicely in a design that I really like. It says its one of the quietest cases available, which I like. I also like how it seperates the different sections for cooling purposes.
My dad has the sonata I and really likes it. I helped him put his computer together and the case was kinda a pain to work with. The door on the I is not very good, as it doesn't open up very much but they have fixed that with the II. I like how it looks, as I'm about cleanliness with cases, but I don't like the lights in the front, and I've taken a look at the designs and plugins for the front panel and to my knowledge there is no way to disable them. Its a pretty quiet case.

Overall I like the P180 better, but I want to see what you guys think. Its between these two cases. I still need to go look up more information about the P180 and see what the most problems are with it.

Oh. The P180 is TAC compliant, meaning....
Thermally Advantaged Chassis

Compusys have invested significant resources to produce PC solutions that meet the demands of high performance processors - without the normal side effects of increased noise.

One of the industry standards that Compusys have exceeded are the Intel "Thermally Advantaged Chassis" recommendations, also known as TAC-38.

TAC-38 defines specific temperature levels that the system must remain within, while running under sustained high-performance loads.

I don't like cases that have a door covering the whole front.

:reechy: Oh well. I found the black P180 on NewEgg for 105 with 15 dollar 3 day shipping. Perhaps it might make it here in time for Christmas. :shrugs: Its the first step in my desktop.
I'm getting this and a PS. I think thats it for now. Perhaps a DVD writer or something too. At the end of the school year I'm going to buy everything else. Its going to be about 400 for the final payment. Motherboard, CPU, RAM, and Video board...Well, maybe closer to 500. Hehe...
