Rare to medium rare, it's the only way to fully enjoy a good cut of Filet Mignon.

I used to get Well Done. Then I realized eating cardboard and carbon deposits wasn't that great a thing. I ask for Medium Rare to get it Medium.

at the places I would actually order a steak, Rare. If for some reason I was FORCED to eat a steak at like...Applebees or something...prob more along the lines of medium.
