It's not OHC, but it's not small. We had to remove the radiator and jack up the motor on my buddy's foxbody just to pull the cam out.

the 302 really isnt all that big.....its just outdated technology...dunno why of all motors he would choose that one.

Compared to a small displacement inline 4 cyl....yeah, it's big and heavy. As for choosing it, there are a SHITLOAD of parts for the 302. The aftermarket scene is ridiculous....parts are cheap, and it's cheap to make it go fast. I still want a foxbody gt/lx as a project car.

a 93 cobra fox body is still a car I WILL own.....and yes I agree, but I would still do a different motor in a frickin lude if I was gonna do the RWD conversion

To add to what Dub said it also is a high rev motor kind of like the Chevy 327 is to the 350. so not only can you squeeze mad power out on a budget but you can (with a lot of work) wrap that sucker up to the 10k range and not blow the piss out of it.

I used to have a 93 GT, was a fun car! IMO, it was the perfect size and weight for the power. I had a few mod's, it was plenty fast for me! Didn't handle anything like my integra though. Cracked the block, no antifreeze in PA ftl. I miss it .
