it's almost like sony wanted to fail..
but they kept pushing back the launch date. they had to go through with it, even at a bad time. and especially before christmas. I don't think they could have launched it at a better time, honestly. I mean, put it off for 6 months? that wouldn't fly too well...
consider the tech used in it. maybe it was a branch for them to walk out on, but I think it was a good gamble for them to take.
can't blame them. thats how you roll in the corporate world. I'll admit I'm a little upset with the way sony has handled their diversification (laptops and lcd's
), but its not an easy task. lets hope they learn from a few mistakes....

Sony may have finally crossed that boundary and will need to rethink their mission goals before continuing any farther forward.
From my perspective, Sony got so caught up in trying to sell the console and not the games, that they sold themselves and pretty much forgot about the games and just put so much effort into the hype of the console.
Fuck the console, I don't play PS3, I play games.
Sony, take a good look at the Wii, what it can do and the games for it. Nintendo is selling the games and the experience. Not a console.
IMO that's where sony is having a fault.

the wii is cool, but I'll never forgive nintendo for the way they've handled things in the past (ditching the SNES for the lacklust N64, and lets not forget virtual boy and 10 versions of game boy).
having played the ps3 at 1080p, I'd say I'm pretty impressed with its potencial (can't wait for Gran Turismo). Need for Speed C/F is pretty impressive in all its ricerness :chuckles:
the game developers have free reign on ps3 hardware. Its gonna be something else over time...

i dont give a shit what the console can do, rather what the games i play on it can do.
i dont care if my console can play hd movies, or surf the internet. i have my computer for surfing the internet, and hd movies are still a ways off.
sony has def failed with its initial game selection release. graphics are not what they should be. nor is overall game quality.
I've beaten more games on my 360 since I've gotten it that I did on my OG Playstation, which was quite a few. I've also replayed a lot of my games on harder levels. Mainly due to the achievements system M$ added, gives you a lil something extra to play for. So for me 360 has made my gaming experience better overall, not to mention the online play and marketplace.
I also plan on getting a Wii after the holidays, PS3...not unless Blu-ray wins the format war or they come out with some stellar apps...MGS and GT aren't much better than Splinter Cell and Forza so I can look over them, and a lot of 3rd party's are launching both systems at the same time now so there's not much reason to have one over the other, other than personal preference. I also prefer the 360 controller to the PS2/3 controller, it just fits so well in the hands and every button is easily accessible.
