Seeing as how bad their company is, customer service and how badly they make computers, not to mention different software they put on them, I very very highly doubt that statement. I would not wish an eMachine upon anyone. Terrible computers. Absolutely terrible.

so true! my t23 was solid and my sister in college is using it now. i just got a new t43 through work and the thing is on about 15 hours a day and im running my design software on it as well as alot of database stuff. works great, only upgrade i made was i bumped for the gig of mem

Oh this one is actually in stock. I like that one.

Unless you are playing games... I don't see anyone needing more than this one. And for $899, you'll have money to spare.

Yea, it's an HP/Compaq. But we use some of them here at work, honestly they are a solid product. Amazingly better than when it was just compaq. I'm posting from an HP right now, it's a good machine.

my little 12" averatech is doing very nicely so far. picked it up for $700.

IBM/lenovo is very nice, and if you go to a BBFB (best buy for business) store, you might be able to order an IBM. i know my old store had an x60 on display in the business section.

buy something for someone else and get $1500 cash, then go buy a Macbook; and if you're a student, you should get like $100 off the price.
