Official NFL Week 5 Thread
i hate rex grossman. i sat him again, mainly because ALL the projections said to start brunell, and now i may lose the game in my most important league, and i'm 4-0. ARGGH!!~
T-Rex > ...
dare I say it?
Meyton Panning
never bet against Rexy
I bet he could do some damage with the 1st team offense. Seriously.
:hs:
BUT ... a proven backup indeed.

No, Brian Griese is a dipshit. We had him here in Denver for several years. He's a great backup QB if Grossman gets injured for a game or 2, but don't ever play him as a regular starter. He'll drive your team into the ground. He doesn't play well with others -- he has no leadership ability.

Why would you ever sit Grossman, ride him all season long. he hasn't given a reason to anyone to bench him.
depends which stats you look at.
Grossman > Manning
+ overall QB rating
+ TD passes (10 vs 8)
Manning > Grossman
+ air yards (1278 vs 1243)
+ percent completed (62.0 vs 60.4)
you just gotta remember, Manning's offense is designed to throw the rock. 171 attempts vs Rex's 152, a 19 throw differential ... figure if Grossman threw the ball 19 more times, I'm sure he'd have more yards than Manning.
Either way, the fact this is even a feasible debate, I'm thrilled.

It doesn't hurt either that the bears have an extremely easy schedule. I mean playing both the packers and the lions twice? That's 4 easy wins right there. From what I see, their only remaining challenge for the entire season are the Patriots and Rams, and added to their only real threat earlier in the season, the seahawks, thats 3 "tough" challengers for this season.

The Seattle game was a complete whooping though. Sure there was no #38, but still ... one guy couldn't make up 30+ points.
The AFC East was supposed to be MUCH better than this. The Fish suck. The Jets suck. The Cows suck.
But, fact is ... the teams they're supposed to beat, they're running into the ground. Seattle BARELY squeeked by Detriot in week 1.
9 to 6 in a battle of fieldgoals? Yikes.
