I used to bite them down to little nubs when I was younger... at some point I just stopped. I still use my teeth for trimming h:

I have been biting my nails all my life...doesn't really bother me...gives me somethin to do when im bored/nervous....they still look normal...if my fingers looked like the ones above..my god..I would rub poop on them or something

 

ive been bitting mine since i was 8, i stopped for a while and try to control my self, but its hard im 28 now so its been a 20 year old habbit.

I bet there are certain things / times you bite-up. Cigarettes for me..... on the phone, first get in the car, after I eat... I had to re-define ALL that shit. You plan to stop?

 

I don't usually bite them, I pick at them. I need to stop because with work my fingers start to hurt if I pick them back to far. Especially if I pull up some of the part on the side.
