Honestly, if you can stop yourself from biting your nails for about 30 days... You'll break the habit h:

i used to bite them all the time. it was real bad. but then i went camping in mexico for a week, and i stopped because i couldn't wach my hands very much while i was there. after a week of not biting them, i got mostly over the habit. i still have urges to bite them now, but i just clip them, so it helps. trust me, it's so much better when you stop. you don't have to worry about how your nails look, or whether they're going to bleed or not.

 

It's not really about the nails. The nails are just getting other shit taken out on them.

I had a FES class once with 38 females and 3 guys. We were talking about bad habits and one of the guys said he bit his nails. The professor asked if anyone had a suggestion about what he should do to stop. I raised my hand:

"Do your best to let them grow, and go get a manicure. You're not gonna wanna get your nails DIRTY, let alone bite them off." 38 chicks turned around w/ the "who said that?" look on their faces :chuckles:

All-in-all, it's nervous tension. Try do take deep breaths instead. That's how I quit smoking cigs. Deep breaths.

 

i can't even eat with my hands without washing them first or having my hands anywhere near my face let alone biting my nails... pic=gross

 

i bite them all the time. my girlfriend had that no-bite stuff that tastes like shit, and we put it on one of those listerne strips and gave it to my friend.. that was funny :chuckles:

 

The solution:

Stick your fingers up your ass one by one. The don't wash them.
