right now you are switching from DC to AC back to DC with major loss--

I don't experience any issues at all with the power supply. Using an inverter is very simple and does the job quite nicely. I don't see any reason to make any changes, especially when using a laptop.

The computer stays quite cool back there based on the fact that I don't leave it running if I'm going to be away from it for an extended period of time.

Stuff comes up here and there depending on what all you want to accomplish. Pretty much everything I listed is what I've done so it's pretty straight forward.

Thanks for all the comments.

It's parked in the sun all day long at work and I don't have a single problem with it. There are internal cooling devices (fans/heatsinks) that will help deter heating issues and move the heat out of the computer when it's running. If it becomes a problem, I'll just get a laptop cooling deck and be done with it, but I don't see that happening.

I think I'm going to install a hardware monitor that will log temps just to be sure I'm not hitting any red zones. Thanks for the insight on it.

i dont think that it is the running temp that is the problem, but the spikes inside the heat of the car when it is just sititng parked in the sun. i mean some cars can get up at 150 degrees inside.

though the only major component i'd be worried abotu would be a battery, but since this shouldn'thave a baattery it shouldnt be that bad.

as for operating temps, if it's closed up back there with it's vents blocked of i'd worry
